**This class will be held virtually via Zoom. Registrants will receive their Zoom link the day before and an hour before class start time. (You must register to receive the link)**
An individual with a disability seeking accessible properties will need a real estate professional who understands their housing needs and local resources. This certification focuses on educating real estate professionals about the importance of accessible living and assisting an individual with a disability. Learn how to provide these real estate services while growing your professional network and becoming the local Certified Accessibility Real Estate Specialist!
Learning Objectives:
• Educate what accessibility is.
• Highlight stats on individuals residing in the United States as well as well-known individuals with disabilities.
• Introduce history and laws of accessibility and disability.
• Define the different types of disabilities.
• Define accepted disability terms.
• Highlight how to engage with an individual with a disability.
• Highlight the support systems options for independent living.
• Educate how to find accessible properties and features.
• Introduce reasonable accommodations requests.
• Introduce the various accessible property terms.
• Educate how to safely show properties to an individual with a disability.
• Introduce different funding resources and
• Educate how to assist an individual with a disability to receive and sign contracts and documents.
• Introduce how to create an accessibility team.
• Highlight how to provide and find disability resources.
• Educate how to resell accessible properties.
• Highlight local accessible features.
• Educate how to report discrimination.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
1. FREC requires that licensees attend 90% of instructional class time.
2. CE credit will not be awarded to students who miss more than 20 minutes of instructional time.
3. All students MUST remain logged in at all times. No exceptions.
CANCELLATION/NO-SHOWS
Cancellations not received within two (2) business day prior to class start time will result in the forfeiture of the registration fee. Cancellations can be made through ORRA’s Professional Development Department at 407.513.7268 or email at education@orlandorealtors.org.
