The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has issued a 26 page booklet entitled “Your Home Loan Tool Kit.” Understanding this tool kit is essential for REALTORS® to fully comprehend the impact of the TILA -RESPA guidelines. This 3 hour course will show you how to use the tool kit to make appropriate calculations, be come more productive and professional with regard to TILA-RESPA and enable you to speak with authority to clients regarding the nuances of the new disclosure and closing process.

Objectives: After taking this class students will be able to:

•Identify the most important steps a consumer should make before buying a home.
•List the components of a monthly payment.
•Learn what affects a consumer’s loan qualification.
•Explain front and back ratios to a borrower.
•List what comprises and impacts credit scores.
•State why a fixed rate mortgage may be desirable.
•Identify risky loan features.
•State down payment alterations.
•Explain zero-point loans.
•Understand why a consumer may want to compare lenders.
•Understand title insurance.
•Explain what to do if a consumer gets behind on their mortgage.

ATTENDANCE POLICY:
1. Attendees must remain logged at least 90% of instructional class time.
2. CE credit will not be awarded to students who miss more than 15 minutes of instructional time. No exceptions.
